PRIMROSE BANK CARE HOME
Award Winning Kitchen
In our award-winning kitchen, meals are prepared by highly trained chefs, using fresh locally sourced ingredients. We produce a varied menu every day and our chef’s can meet any dietary, cultural or medical requirements. We are experienced and trained in catering for those needing a dysphagia diet. We can meet cater to any allergen requirements or intolerances, including gluten free. We signed up to the Vegetarian for Life UK List and Memory Pledge in 2018.
Food is Medicine
At Primrose Bank we fully embrace the term ‘Food is Medicine’. Our Nutrition and Hydration Champion can help tailor nutrition plans to suit you, and work with our chefs to help you enjoy food again and to help with weight gain or loss. We believe in a food first approach, creating nutrient dense food and healthy snacks and taking a proactive approach to targeting malnutrition.
Between Mealtimes
Between mealtimes, there are always plenty of snacks and drinks available, or help yourself to a variety of treats from our nutrition and hydration stations in the home.
We always try to make food fun, and host regular food related activities, Pizza Making, Baking, tasting sessions to name a few. We host regular ‘Cruise Days’ where we turn the home into another host city, with decorations, activities and most importantly the food and flavours of abroad.
Dinner Clubs
Our ‘Dinner Clubs’ are also popular amongst families. We turn our dining room into a fine dining restaurant, create a rosette quality menu with multiple courses and paired wines. Resident’s can invite families and friends to enjoy a brilliant meal with excellent company without the concerns of care needs or accessibility of going out to a restaurant.
Primrose Bank is an active member of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) so stays regularly updated in new research, products and training relevant to our catering team and also helps share knowledge and training with other care homes.
We have won multiple awards, including our Head Chef Aaron Watson winning Care Chef of the Year in 2021
