Steeped in history, Primrose Bank is an elegant Edwardian residence, sympathetically converted into a purposeful residential home that allows for privacy, choice and a dignified lifestyle.

Primrose Bank is a real family affair, with Directors Jackie Moore and Elle Abbas, bringing up their children Rachel and Jenny in the original house. Whilst Rachel, Rachel’s Husband Nick and Jenny have followed in their footsteps and now make up a large part of the Management Team. 


The History of Primrose Bank Care Home

Primrose Bank is an elegant Edwardian residence, sympathetically converted into a purposeful residential home for the elderly. The home is a family-run business and was opened in February 1988 by current proprietors Jacqueline Moore and Eleanor Abbas.

Since then the home has gained an excellent reputation among health care professionals and residents and strives to maintain it’s high standard of care and facilities in a homely environment.

Meet The Manager

Rachel Dutton is the Registered Manager at Primrose Bank Care Home.

Rachel grew up at Primrose Bank, moving into the front part of the building at the age of 2 when her Mum and Aunty founded the home in 1988, living at the care home while work was completed. Since then she has done pretty much every role from kitchen assistant to senior carer.

She then went on to pursue her dream of being a qualified nurse and worked at Blackpool Victoria hospital till returning to take over from her mum Jackie as registered manager.

She has managed Primrose Bank since 2017 and is incredibly proud to keep it as family run and owned. She is a huge advocate for person centred care, innovation and maintaining excellent standards.

Rachel is passionate about placing family at the centre of everything we do.

Our Team

Our staff are what makes this house a home and are our pride and joy. They’re our success story. Made up of Managers, Carers, Activities and wellbeing, Catering and housekeeping, we’re more of a family here.

Each staff member is carefully chosen for their values and their passion for taking care of the people that come to spend any amount of time with us. All of our care staff are trained to a minimum of NVQ level 2, but have the opportunity to progress in their career with the continuous training and development support we offer. We nurture and invest in them, ensuring they feel valued, happy and love being part of the Primrose Bank family.

Inspections and regulations

The regulatory body for all Care Homes in England is the Care Quality Commission [CQC] who produce ‘Inspection Reports’. Primrose Bank is inspected annually and we encourage all residents and relatives to read the reports, which are available here, on the CQC website.
